INTEGRATIVE METABOLIC WELLNESS™
A coordinated, whole-body approach to health and wellness.
At IMW we believe in…
We recognize that the foundations of wellness must be in place before implementing more targeted intervention, like specific protocols, supplements, and utilizing functional labs, to ensure lasting results.
These foundations include a whole-food, nutrient dense diet, elimination of environmental toxins, quality rest, supportive rhythms, sunlight, fresh air, movement, reducing of lifestyle stressors, etc.
Foundations First
Bioindividuality
While we believe that there are some foundational truths for every body, we also recognize that some level of bio-individuality exists across our clients, with each client having their own biological makeup and needs. Because of this, we don’t believe in one-size-fits-all protocols, and as such, we cater our recommendations to each specific client and their individual needs.
A Whole-Life Approach
Lifestyle health is a grossly overlooked topic in the wellness world… it is all too common to see seemingly “health conscious” individuals running from sun-up to sundown, keeping stress levels continually high, living a lifestyle that is not conducive to wellness. A true holistic approach assesses every area of the body and life, including routines, schedules, work, parenting, marriage, mindset, and more.
The Self Healing Nature of the Body
The body is innately designed to heal itself by continually repairing damaged areas, detoxifying harmful substances, and prioritizing our survival above all else. We recognize that a body functioning in a less-than-ideal state is not “out to get us” or failing us, but instead attempting to compensate, protect, and/or conserve energy. We acknowledge that symptoms are just the body’s way of communicating that some areas need additional support, and we fully believe that when we provide the required support, the body is capable of self-healing, as it was beautifully designed to do.
HI, I’M EMMALEE!
I am a Registered Nurse, Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, and the creator of Integrative Metabolic Wellness™.
Three years ago I was a burnt out nurse, searching for a career that allowed me to help others find actual, lasting healing instead of the bandaid solutions provided by the western medical system, without running myself ragged in the process. I had previously healed my own chronic illness through a holistic approach and sought out a certification that would allow me to start working with clients 1:1.
I completed my certification and, since that time, I’ve helped dozens (if not hundreds at this point) of individuals heal from chronic illness after being failed by the western medicine approach.
But during my own practice I began noticing glaring gaps in the wellness industry:
Gap #1: There are so few medically-literate practitioners.
The world is only getting sicker... we are seeing more congenital abnormalities, cancers, chronic illness requiring emergency intervention... BUT we are also seeing so many people wake up to the failures of the medical system. People with medically-complex cases deserve help too! But they need practitioners who can fully grasp the ins-and-outs of their case, while still helping them find holistic support where possible.
With so many nurses leaving the field in search of a career that allows more fulfillment, flexibility, and freedom, I believe they are perfectly suited to fill this gap.
Gap #2: We need certification programs that teach more than just nutrition or functional lab analysis.
We need training on ALL the aspects of health. because health is so much more than diet or treating lab results or alternative allopathy. My experiences over the last couple of years have only reaffirmed this... It seems like all the programs out there (at least all the programs I know of) focus heavily on the nutrition piece, or focus heavily on functional lab analysis, and fail to take a truly integrative approach, assessing all areas of life and helping individuals find balance from all sides.
Integrative Metabolic Wellness Academy was created to fill both of those gaps in the health and wellness space.
INTEGRATIVE METABOLIC WELLNESS™
The mission of Integrative Metabolic Wellness™ is to share our unique approach with as many individuals as possible via the training of new practitioners. IMW also seeks to provide nurses with new opportunities, allowing them to leave their nursing careers for the fulfillment, flexibility, and freedom a career in holistic wellness can offer.
MISSION
